Hello friends,
I was meaning to publish a long-form essay today—one where I try to unpack what it means to be an adult-aged married woman and mother, in this economy, with all its Internet-age pressures and expectations. I've written and rewritten this piece countless times (okay, 47 to be exact), each iteration feeling like it's almost there, but still not quite hitting the nerve I'm aiming for.
I need to ruminate on that a bit more, but still—I was feeling this urge today to simply reach out, to connect. (The suburbs can be a very, very quiet place.)
The longer essay is coming by Thursday, I promise, but for now, here's a very visual diary of what's been rolling around my brain lately:
